Symposium

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MAWLID AL-NABI

OUR PROPHET AND FAMILY

(22-24 November 2019/Antalya)

Being one of the most beautiful blessings of the Almighty Allah (swt), family is a sacred relationship that gives peace and serenity to humankind and gets more beautiful with children and halal sustenance. Family is one of the signs of Allah the Exalted (swt) on earth and is an institution that attains respect, love, compassion, and affection with His mercy. It is a robust and reliable harbor that protects individuals against the negativity and dangers. Family is the smallest but the most important building block of the society and it is the starting point that affects every stage of life.

Both the issues that target family and that are faced within the family itself affect all of us in the globalizing world and threat not only our present but also our future. Without considering values and limits, development of mass media may harm the privacy of the family, the rights of family members, and the dignity of family without boundaries. Our families are destroyed heavily on the grounds of disloyalty, intolerance, unawareness, and violence. Therefore, we are all jointly responsible to come up with solutions for the establishment, protection, and maintenance of the family in the future in a healthy way. Within this context, we need academic studies that will guide today’s families through strong references fostered by the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah, and the constants.

The Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey has always taken it as its duty to bring up the topics, which should be addressed and are important specifically for our nation and generally for humanity, to the public agenda and thereby conduce to social awareness and sensitivity. In this context, the theme of Mawlid al-Nabi Week in 2019 was determined as “The Prophet Muhammad and Family”.
